Age Limit;

Age should be not less than 35 years and not more than 55 years. The upper age limit will not apply to the internal candidates and personnel served in Sri Lanka Air Force, Airport and Aviation Services, Local Airlines or Flying Schools. Applicants above the age of 60 would be considered for employment on contract basis.

Qualification;

External Candidates

Option 1

1.A Bachelor’s Degree of not less than three (03) years duration, in the field Aeronautical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering which is recognized by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka;

WITH

2.A Postgraduate Degree qualification (Masters’) in the field of Aviation or Associate Membership of a recognized Professional Chartered Institute relating to Aviation or successfully completion of Flight Safety / Airworthiness Training Courses (Managerial Level) of not less than six (06) weeks conducted by the International Civil Aviation Organization or similar Organization of International repute or any similar qualification which is recognized by the International Civil Aviation Organization;

AND

3.Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer at a Managerial in a Corporation, Statutory Board/Institution/Government owned company or a reputed Private Institution

Option 2

1.Full Membership of a recognized Professional Chartered Institute relating to Aviation or having followed a series of Aircraft Maintenance Training Courses which include Government Safety Inspector on Airworthiness Course (Managerial Level) of not less than (06) six weeks conducted by the International Civil Aviation Organization or similar Organization of International repute or any similar qualification which is recognized by the International Civil Aviation Organization;

AND

2.Minimum of twenty (20) years’ service as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer;

Internal Candidates

Option -1

Having obtained the qualification required by the external candidates mentioned above

Option -2

1. Completion of minimum of five (05) years’ satisfactory service in a post in the Manager category (MM1-1) grade I in the field of Airworthiness;

2. Unblemished track record for the preceding five (05) years and having earned all the increments in the current post:

Having successfully completed advanced Training courses approved by the Authority in the field of Aircraft Maintenance and Airworthiness including the Government Safety Inspector Airworthiness course of not less than six (06) weeks conducted by the International Civil Aviation Organization or its recognized institute ;

4. Good or above grading in the Annual Performance Appraisals for the last five (05) years.
